Arrest over slaying of seals | Stuff.co.nz

Arrest over slaying of seals | Stuff.co.nz

Two Marlborough men have been arrested in connection with the brutal deaths of 23 seals near Ohau Point, north of Kaikoura, in November.
The men, aged 35 and 19, have been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, and possession of an offensive weapon, and are to appear in Blenheim District Court on Monday.
Police would not say where in Marlborough the men were from.
The fur seals were beaten to death in what was described by the Conservation Department (DOC) as a "callous and cowardly" attack, which shocked locals and tourists visiting the site.
Some were just a few days old. The dead seals also included 13 females and two bulls. Other live seals had injuries that suggested they were also struck.

I am over the moon about this and I will be eager to know their scumbag names .

update: MAGGOTS!!

Jason Godsiff and Jemaal Large

Two Marlborough men entered no plea when they appeared in the Blenheim District Court this morning charged over the death of seals near Kaikoura last year.
Jemaal Peter Roy Large, 35, a driver from Wairau Valley, and Jason Trevor Godsiff, a 19-year-old Renwick man whose occupation was not given on his charge sheet, appeared before Judge Tony Zohrab shortly after 10am.
They are charged with possession of an offensive weapon, a galvanised steel pole, in a public place at Ohau Point, and wilfully ill-treating 23 seals by clubbing them to death.
Large was remanded on bail with conditions until July 18, and Godsiff was to reappear this afternoon when he was expected to enter a plea.
The fur seals were beaten to death in December in what was described by the Conservation Department (DOC) as a ''callous and cowardly'' attack, which shocked locals and tourists visiting the site.
Some were just a few days old. The dead seals also included 13 females and two bulls. Other live seals had injuries that suggested they had also been hit.
At the time the seals were found, DOC said it believed they had been attacked over several days. Some of the seals had injuries that could have been a week old, they said.

The worst scum, can't call them 'animals' as animals don't kill for pleasure. Words fail me and unfortunately  the human race is still in the stone-age in its evolution when it comes to animal welfare and sentences for this type of offence.
I will follow this one that's for sure and voice my protest if they appear to get off lightly.

Police: Pakistani Girl Forced to Wear Suicide Vest - FoxNews.com

A 9-year-old girl who was kidnapped on her way to school and forced to wear a suicide bomb vest managed to escape her captors Monday as they directed her to attack a paramilitary checkpoint in northwest Pakistan, both she and police officials said.

Sohana Jawed, dressed in a blue and white school uniform, recounted her ordeal during a news conference with police in Lower Dir district. Militants in Pakistan have often used young boys to carry out attacks, but the use of young girls is rare.

On discovering that the nine year old school kid they kidnapped was a girl, the Taliban had no further use for her and just went for option B: the suicide vest.

Tupac still alive in New Zealand ( Lulz)

while its up

The group maintains an anarchic Twitter feed memorably described by Boing Boing as "like watching a rabid elephant on PCP wearing a top hat rampage through a crowded market with explosive banana diarrhoea".

LulzSec hacks EVE Online as rampage goes on

"LulzSec manifesto: "We screw each other over for a jolt of satisfaction"
Why did the hackers at Lulz Security ("LulzSec") invade Sony Pictures websites, take down cia.gov, and release 60,000+ e-mail addresses and passwords? For the lulz, of course—but what might look lulzy to one person could certainly enrage another. In honor of its 1,000th tweet, the witty wankers of LulzSec released a manifesto of sorts, defending their actions to the angry Internets.

Sure, they're in it for the lulz, but they claim that their behavior is also in the public interest. What—don't most public servants end their dispatches with "Thank you, bitches"?

Casey Anthony's trial is a summer obsession - CNN.com

Casey Anthony's trial is a summer obsession - CNN.com

Here in the land of Mickey, where parents lavish time and money to immerse their little ones in the magic of childhood, another name has stolen the show: Casey. Casey Anthony, 25, is accused of killing her doe-eyed toddler and the murder trial is inescapable this summer: Inside the diner, the gym, the hair salon -- even the car wash -- TV screens are tuned in to the coverage and grabbing eyeballs.
At Fields BMW in suburban Winter Park, no one has switched channels in the customer lounge since testimony began four weeks ago.
"I don't think anybody's brave enough to grab the remote," said Whitney Lore, the cashier.
The drama sucked in Trevor Ball this week as he waited for his wife's BMW to be serviced. He fired off a Casey update to her by text: The prosecution rests.
Half the people who turn on their TVs in Orlando during the daytime are watching the trial, says Steve Hyvonen, news director at WKMG, a CNN affiliate. That usually only happens here when a hurricane hits.

Keith Wolfrey Strangles Baby Mama, Updates Facebook, Goes Back to Bed - True Crime Report

Keith Wolfrey Strangles Baby Mama, Updates Facebook, Goes Back to Bed - True Crime Report

The young couple's respective Facebook pages laid out the dish. When life was sweet and rolling, 20-year-old Joie Lordi posted cheesy song lyrics from The Offspring and pictures of the infant boy whom she shared with her on-again, off-again fiancee Keith Wolfrey...

When matters of the heart turned crap, her comments went in the porta-potty with them.

"My heart's about to break for the final time," she wrote in May, only to follow it up the next day with: "Top two things I hate today 1. Men 2. Men who lie."

As for her beau, the 23-year-old Wolfrey also liked to keep the world electronically abreast. But his Facebook postings -- with the love of spring in full-time bloom -- seemed to have a constant, dark theme: doom.

After Lordi had changed her online relationship from "engaged" to "single," Wolfrey retorted by writing, "Fool! You have jusy [sic] ensured the doom of this world. You cannot even begin to imagine what you set in motion this day."

He would follow-up that declaration up with the posting: "If you are in love you are better off dead."

Last weekend with the couple's courtship officially in full deterioration mode, Wolfrey was moving out of their home in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. An argument broke out between Lordi and Wolfrey over a house key late Saturday night.

With the infant asleep in his bedroom, the spat between his parents turned violent. Wolfrey would later tell police he remembered wrapping his hands around Lordi's neck before he blacked out.

According to police, Wolfrey strangled Lordi to death sometime between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Sunday would just so happen to be the six-month anniversary of their little boy's birth.

Around half past four in the morning, Wolfrey rose and walked into the kitchen to discover Lordi's lifeless body, he claims. But instead of calling 911, he wrapped his ex-fiancee's face in duct tape, went to the computer to update his Facebook page, writing "anyone alive," and then crashed back in bed.

It was only later that morning -- after being woke up by the baby -- did Wolfrey summon police.

He was taken into custody for questioning. He told police he still didn't know what happened to Lordi because he went unconscious in the throes of their argument.

An autopsy on Lordi's body concluded she was murdered -- death by strangulation.

Wolfrey was arraigned late Sunday. He's been charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse. He's currently in being held without bond with his preliminary hearing slated for June 1.
Come back Madonna, all is forgiven.

......................2012 and Counting........................

“2012 is Eternity, brother.
This is the end of the line.
No one can return.
This is forever.”
- Lord Pakal Ahau

A NASA Scientist Answers the Top 20 Questions About 2012
PUBLIC CONCERN ABOUT DOOMSDAY IN December 2012 has blossomed into a major new presence on the Internet. This fear has begun to invade cable TV and Hollywood, and it is rapidly spreading internationally. The hoax originally concerned a return of the fictitious planet Nibiru in 2012, but it received a big boost when conspiracy theory websites began to link it to the end of the Mayan calendar long count at the winter solstice (December 21) of 2012. Over the past year, many unrelated groups have joined the doomsday chorus, including Nostradamus advocates, a wide variety of eschatological Christian, Native American, and spiritualist sects, and those who fear comet and asteroid impacts or violent solar storms. At the time of this writing there are more than 175 books listed on Amazon.com dealing with the 2012 doomsday. The most popular topics are the Mayan calendar and spiritual predictions that the disaster in 2012 will usher in a new age of happiness and spiritual growth. Quite a few authors are cashing in with manuals on how to survive 2012.
