Arrest over slaying of seals | Stuff.co.nz

Two Marlborough men have been arrested in connection with the brutal deaths of 23 seals near Ohau Point, north of Kaikoura, in November.
The men, aged 35 and 19, have been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, and possession of an offensive weapon, and are to appear in Blenheim District Court on Monday.
Police would not say where in Marlborough the men were from.
The fur seals were beaten to death in what was described by the Conservation Department (DOC) as a "callous and cowardly" attack, which shocked locals and tourists visiting the site.
Some were just a few days old. The dead seals also included 13 females and two bulls. Other live seals had injuries that suggested they were also struck.

I am over the moon about this and I will be eager to know their scumbag names .

update: MAGGOTS!!

Jason Godsiff and Jemaal Large

Two Marlborough men entered no plea when they appeared in the Blenheim District Court this morning charged over the death of seals near Kaikoura last year.
Jemaal Peter Roy Large, 35, a driver from Wairau Valley, and Jason Trevor Godsiff, a 19-year-old Renwick man whose occupation was not given on his charge sheet, appeared before Judge Tony Zohrab shortly after 10am.
They are charged with possession of an offensive weapon, a galvanised steel pole, in a public place at Ohau Point, and wilfully ill-treating 23 seals by clubbing them to death.
Large was remanded on bail with conditions until July 18, and Godsiff was to reappear this afternoon when he was expected to enter a plea.
The fur seals were beaten to death in December in what was described by the Conservation Department (DOC) as a ''callous and cowardly'' attack, which shocked locals and tourists visiting the site.
Some were just a few days old. The dead seals also included 13 females and two bulls. Other live seals had injuries that suggested they had also been hit.
At the time the seals were found, DOC said it believed they had been attacked over several days. Some of the seals had injuries that could have been a week old, they said.

The worst scum, can't call them 'animals' as animals don't kill for pleasure. Words fail me and unfortunately  the human race is still in the stone-age in its evolution when it comes to animal welfare and sentences for this type of offence.
I will follow this one that's for sure and voice my protest if they appear to get off lightly.

  1. Fuckers ! I hate hearing about shit like that - it just makes me want to hurt the assholes who purposely beat and torture animals.
But, then - better to know about it and be angry than to be blind, so...thanks for posting it.
